  After working at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, and the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health, Meredith Marks joined Gill in 2016. She appreciates the opportunity to be part of a small, but active Department of Institutional Advancement, and she enjoys working with parents and trustees to help further the school’s mission. Her favorite memory of GSB was her first Turkey Day -- because it was such a fun way to begin the holiday season, and she also enjoys Reunion Weekend and getting to know the school’s alumni.

   

  Balance matters when you deal with students, parents, and colleagues alike. The balance of my job gives me the opportunity to interact with all the different facets of our community.

  Sarah Quinn Clausen worked in development at Chatham Day School and Kent Place School, and she also worked for Lehman Brothers. She has a strong passion for building community and for fundraising. She hopes to help shape the daily experience for students by helping to secure the funds necessary to enhance Gill’s programs and curriculum. Quinn Clausen especially enjoys GSB’s beautiful campus.

   

  I hope through our department’s work within the community we inspire parents and alumni to support GSB through philanthropic giving and volunteerism with the hopes our current students follow their lead when they graduate.

  Jennifer Doherty loves the amazing resources available at the school and the beautiful campus. She also especially appreciates the positive impact that the school’s volunteers have and how their hard work inspires others to volunteer.

   

  Several of my favorite moments at GSB happen as large events come together, and the parents that showed up to help are rewarded, not only by the success of the event but, more importantly, by the camaraderie and friendships formed during the planning.

  After a successful career at AT&T and the Far Hills Race Meeting Association, Nancy Randolph began working in Gill’s Office of Institutional Advancement. Randolph especially admires the drive students have in becoming successful academically and socially -- and their ability to be openminded to differences. Randolph’s favorite memories of Gill are the early childhood concerts.

   

  I chose to work at GSB because of its reputation in the community. I stayed for the past five years because I truly love my job and the people with whom I work.

  Pamela Fiander

  Prior to her arrival at GSB, Dr. Fiander retired from a four-decade-long career as a public school teacher, principal, superintendent, and head of two independent schools, including: Shawnee, Wagoner, Cleveland, and Jenks (OK public schools); Bernardsville, Warren, Chester, and Clinton Township (NJ public schools); and Head of Chatham Day School and Chapin School Princeton. She  taught courses at Caldwell University in curriculum and supervision for aspiring administrators, and her affiliation with New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) includes serving on the Board of Trustees and as its Vice-President, Leadership Institute Co-Director, and chairing over 10 accreditation teams in the state, including co-chairing GSB's team in 2007, and returning for the five-year visit in 2012.

   

  What a thrill it is to be warmly welcomed to this amazing GSB community -- a school that I have been observing from a “close distance” for the past 30 years. The campus is mesmerizing, the personal connections are transformative, and the opportunities to revel in the magic of working with children are seemingly boundless.

  Michael LaBrie loves telling and sharing stories, and both the teachers and students at GSB make this easy for him. LaBrie is the school’s new media specialist.

  Nolan Silbernagel

  Nolan Silbernagel first served as the Head Swim Coach at Gill for two years before joining the staff as the Communications Specialist in the summer of 2018. Prior to joining Gill, Silbernagel worked for the New York Yankees and ESPN Radio. “I came to GSB because I wanted to work in a setting where I felt like I could truly make a difference, and I know I have been able to do that with many students,” he says. “It is also a place where if you have a good idea or initiative, you can chase it and produce it.” Silbernagel says his favorite part of his job is working with the students and seeing them grow - in and out of the pool.

   

  I genuinely believe that all GSB students are caring, committed, and exceptional individuals. From my experience, especially from coaching, I see that the kids always strive to do the right thing and always perform their best when they know others are depending on them.
