Girls' Indoor Track & Field
Shelly LaBarre enters her 20th year of coaching the sport here at Gill St. Bernard's and brings a wealth of experience and passion to the program.
LaBarre has helped the program become one of the top teams in the state. Her boys’ teams were crowned New Jersey Prep B Champions in 2003, 2007 and 2014 and the girls’ squad has finished runner-up in 2011 and 2012. She has also had countless athletes from both the boys' and girls' squads win individual Prep B, Non-Public B and county titles, with many more going on to compete in the NCAA.
"I am a very easy-going and approachable coach," says LaBarre. "I want my athletes to work hard and to see success, and I love helping them achieve that. With their dedication and commitment and with my creativity and passion, we can accomplish great things."
LaBarre was a standout athlete prior to coaching the sport. She competed at the Division II level while attending East Stroudsburg University. While there, she was selected to all-conference and All-East teams in the 200 meter and 300 meter sprints. She also held three school records in sprinting events and served as captain her junior and senior years.
LaBarre currently serves as the Supervisor of Health and Physical Education here at Gill.
The girls’ track and field team has grown into a competitive squad in recent years within the Prep B Division. The program finished runner-up at the Prep B Championships in 2011 and 2012. The Knights have also fielded numerous All-Conference, All-Prep and All-State student-athletes throughout the team’s history.

Middle School
The Middle School coed track & field team helps students develop their skills while learning about different events the sport offers. The team regularly competes in Big Blue Invitational to get championship experience. This serves as an important program in developing student-athletes for the successful Upper School Track programs.
