Michael Cascini will be entering his seventh season as the head coach of the golf team and his seventh overall with the program. Under his leadership, the golf team has grown into one of the best programs in the county and the state. Throughout his time at the helm, numerous golfers have been selected to all-conference teams.
Cascini helped lead the program to another successful season last spring. The team went 16-5, won the Mountain Division title, finished in second place at the Somerset County Tournament, and finished third at the Non-Public B sectional championships. The Knights defeated high-profile programs such as Pennington and Pingry during the regular season as well.
"We have a great athletic program and I'm honored to be a part of it," says Cascini. "I enjoy being a positive adult influence in my player's lives. It's a pleasure to see them succeed and learn from their mistakes, both on and off the course. We currently have a young team and I'm excited to see what the future holds."
Prior to coaching at Gill, Cascini played golf at DePaul Catholic High School where he was named team captain his senior year. He went on to continue playing at Stockton University.
"I enjoy the challenges that the game presents and its ability to keep you humble. I love being outdoors and enjoying the scenery, the friendships made and time spent with family."
In addition to coaching, Cascini teaches AP Psychology in the Upper school.
