Mark Gnapp enters his second season as the head coach of the girls' varsity basketball team. In his first season, the Knights had their best divisional record in three years and also earned a win over a top-15 program in the state.
He has been the head girls' basketball coach for multiple teams in the Morris County area and has worked as the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) director and manager of Hoop Heaven Bridgewater, a specialty basketball training facility, since 2006.
During his coaching tenure, he has been a part of two conference championships, one Morris County Championship, two state sectional championships, one overall group New Jersey State Championship and one Tournament of Champions appearance. In total, he has accumulated 245 wins.
Gnapp has coached and trained numerous collegiate Division I and professional players and co-directed the Future Basketball Stars Program of South Plainfield. He earned the Star Ledger's honor of Coach of the Year in 2008 and was also selected as the coach for the North/South All-Star Game from 2015-17.
"I'm really looking forward to this opportunity," Gnapp said. "I really can't wait to share my ideas with my team and while striving to be one of the best teams in the state."
Gnapp played varsity basketball for Parsippany High School and then went on to play basketball at Susquehanna University.
