Athletics at GSB
Gill St. Bernard's School has a proud tradition of athletic excellence throughout its history. Athletics play an integral part of the overall educational experience of our students, reinforcing our core values of courage, integrity, respect, compassion, and excellence through competition, practice, and team-play. During these times of social distancing, our coaches and staff remain committed to the overall health and development of our student-athletes, and we eagerly await their return to the playing fields.
At GSB, our athletes are ambassadors of the school, expected to conduct themselves with honor, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times.
Director of Athletics: Willard Taylor
Taylor brings more than 32 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Prior to coming to Gill, he was the Newark Academy Director of Admission and Enrollment Management, a position held since 2006. A former college athlete, Taylor coached wrestling, football, baseball, and softball. Bringing a high level of passion and commitment to school athletics, he works to build the teams at GSB while enhancing the athletes’ overall experience.
