Gill St. Bernard’s is one of only a handful of independent, college-preparatory schools in New Jersey to offer preschool through grade 12 on a single campus.
Although our goal at Gill St. Bernard’s is ultimately for students to make the world their classroom, we understand that a sense of place and the reassurance of community are essential preludes to exploration and growing independence. Our campus and curriculum are designed to provide each student with the continuity to foster confidence, growth, and healthy risk-taking. Whether they are here for 15 years or for three, our students know that Gill St. Bernard’s will always feel like home, and that knowledge gives them the clarity and confidence to explore a world of possibility. In addition, Gill’s 208-acre campus—including gardens, ponds, streams, and a working farm—is tailor made for our students to begin exploring the larger world outside of the classroom.

Lower School
For our youngest learners, our 208-acre campus is a place of aspiration. Whether walking to class accompanied by an eighth-grader, reading Dr. Seuss with a senior or high-fiving a varsity team captain, Lower School children love to spend time with our older students.
Middle School is a time of tremendous emotional, physical and social growth. With so much change taking place, it is vitally important that Middle Schoolers are in an environment that gives them a sense of continuity, familiarity and security.
At Convocation each September, our seniors pledge to lead the school community with faith, honor and consideration. As part of that ceremony, a member of the senior class reads a children’s story to the gathering of students and faculty.
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey. Each of the three school divisions provides a rigorous, meaningful, and age-appropriate curriculum, and all students benefit from the environmental learning opportunities that exist on our 208-acre campus.
