Having coached high-school sports for more than 25 years, Dave Pasquale enters his ninth season as the head varsity baseball coach at Gill St. Bernard’s. His passion for the sport and commitment to student-athletes has led his teams to unprecedented success.
With a career record of 304 wins and 193 losses, the five-time Coach of the Year has won conference, prep, and sectional championships at two different schools. For these accomplishments he was inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches' Association Hall-of-Fame in 2014.
His Gill teams have earned four consecutive Skyland Conference Mountain Division titles, advanced three times to the finals of the NJSIAA Non-Public B sectional tournament and captured the first Prep B baseball championship in school history. Several of his players have gone on to have successful college careers at all levels of NCAA competition (Division I through Division III).
"I really enjoy the camaraderie that exists in our program,” says Pasquale. “The boys love to compete and they love being around each other. I also enjoy the fact that we've been able to achieve some goals that had never been accomplished before at our school."
At GSB, Pasquale currently serves as the Dean of Student Life; prior to beginning that role in 2015, he was the school’s athletic director for ten years. During his tenure as athletic director, GSB’s athletic program was awarded the NJSIAA ShopRite Cup, designating it as the top Non-Public program in the state.
Before coming to GSB, Pasquale was an independent school English teacher and also coached baseball and basketball.
