The golf team squared off against Delbarton, one of the best programs in the state, on Monday, April 29. Even though the Knights were edged out by the Green Wave 153-157, Gill had something to celebrate, posting its lowest team score of the season.
Entering the match, Delbarton had only lost to Bergen Catholic, the second-ranked team in New Jersey. Head coach Mike Cascini knew that they would bring tough competition.
“I think we played well,” said Cascini. “Delbarton really is a great team and it honestly could have gone either way.”
Moritz Weigold ’19 had an incredible showing as he led all players with a 35. Graeme Hollingshead ’21 posted a 39, and Drew Kramer ’20 shot a 41 to round out the top three scores for Gill.
The Knights are now 12-2 on the season and head into the conference championships later this week.
