It was announced late last week that both the boys’ and girls’ swim teams qualified for the NJSIAA Non-Public B state tournament for the second-straight year. Gill is one of only four independent schools in the entire state to have both a boys team and a girls team qualify for the state tournament.
The girls’ team is the fifth seed in their bracket and will host eighth-seeded St. Dominic’s Academy on Thursday, February 6, at Somerville YMCA at 3:30 p.m.
The boys’ squad grabbed the eighth and final seed in their bracket and will compete against fifth-seeded Oratory Prep on Friday, February 7, at 5:45 p.m. at Morristown-Beard School.
“It is a huge accomplishment to have both teams make the state tournament, and it is the result of a lot of a hard work from a dedicated group of people,” said head coach Nolan Silbernagel. “I am so proud of the boys for fighting through the season and achieving this goal, while I expect the girls to hopefully enjoy a strong run through these playoffs.”
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey. Each of the three school divisions provides a rigorous, meaningful, and age-appropriate curriculum, and all students benefit from the environmental learning opportunities that exist on our 208-acre campus.
