Winter Track Team Shines in State Relays
The varsity indoor track and field team had a fantastic showing at the NJSIAA Non-Public B Relays in Toms River, N.J. over the weekend.
The girls’ distance medley relay squad of Lillie Wilson ’16, Ludi Zhu ’16, Nicole Johnson ’18 and Sahara Ensley ’16 placed second overall (14:00), followed by the girls’ shot put relay squad of Armani Comick ’15 and Erica Phiansunthon ’17, who threw a combined distance of 53’8” for third.
Patrik Andersen ’15, Amechi Nwandu ’17, Michael Iannaconi ’16 and Mathieu Petit ’17 paced the boys’ team with a second place finish (11:28) in the distance medley relay race and third (3:55) in the 4x400, while the shot put relay duo of Michael Tafaro ’15 and Gregory Niccolai ’16 medaled in fourth (70’0”).
