Girls’ Basketball Wins Opening Round of State Tourney

The girls’ basketball team had little difficulty advancing to the second round of the NJSIAA Non-Public, South B tournament as the Knights defeated Mater Dei yesterday by a score of 53-28.
 
Gill jumped out to a 27-11 lead at halftime and never looked back. Leading the way with another double-double was Caileigh Walsh ’21 as she scored 17 points to go along with 12 rebounds and six blocks. Also having strong games for Gill were Ella Fajardo ’21 (16 points) and Devyn Scott ’20 (14 points).
 
The fifth-seeded Knights will now take on fourth-seeded Wildwood Catholic on Friday, March 1.
