Seniors Brianna Moglianesi and Daniel Shen were honored at the Somerset County Principals Association Scholar-Athlete dinner last night for excellence both in the classroom and on the field.
Moglianesi served as a captain on the fencing team this past winter and proved to be one of the best fencers in the state. She took third in epee at the Prep Championships and also qualified for the prestigious NJSIAA State Championships. For her performances on the mat, she was named to 3rd-team all-state.
Shen also served as a captain this past fall as a member of the boys’ soccer team. He was a defensive mainstay on the pitch and he helped the Knights to two Non-Public B state championships along with three divisional titles as well. He was twice named 1st-team all-conference and Somerset County honorable mention.
In the realm of academics, both students are on the High Honors list at GSB. Next fall, Moglianesi will attend the University of Michigan, and Shen will attend the United States Naval Academy.
