Basketball Teams Advance to SCIAA Semifinals

Yesterday, both the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams advanced to the semifinals of the Somerset County tournament.
 
At home, the top-seeded boys’ team defeated Ridge 68-46. Senior Paul Mulcahy and junior Alex Schachne led the scoring with 13 points each, followed by junior Brad Bundschuh with 12. Mulcahy also contributed 13 rebounds. Saturday, the team will play fourth-seeded Immaculata at 6:00 p.m. at Montgomery High School.
 
The girls bested Somerville High (62-45). Leading the offense was junior Ariel White with 16 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Sydnei Caldwell had another big game, contributing 15 points, seven assists and two steals; Nisani Santiago added 10 points and five assists. The sixth-seeded Knights will face second-seeded Franklin tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at Montgomery High School.
