Girls’ Soccer Remains Red Hot

The girls’ soccer team had another great week on the pitch, as the Knights outscored their opponents 14-2 over three matches and went 2-1 over that stretch.

The Knights began the week on a high note, defeating Manville, 9-0, on Tuesday, September 17. Emily Raia '20 and Tess Kelly  '22 led the scoring attack for Gill with each player scoring two goals. Also recording goals for GSB were Alexandra Yates '20, Caroline Solondz '21, Mia Kolb '22, Grace Crimi '23 and Delaney Yates '23. Tereza Zimmer '20 was in net to record the shutout.

The Knights were right back at it on Thursday, September 19, winning 4-0, against South Hunterdon. Raia and Crimi were once again scorers for Gill, and Sam Lowe '20 and Charlotte Aunger '23 also contributed goals. Delaney Yates added two assists in the win.

Unfortunately, Gill ended the week on a tough note, falling to Newark Academy on Saturday, September 21, by a score of 2-1, despite leading the minutemen for the majority of the game. Delaney Yates was once again involved on the offense as she recorded Gill’s lone goal.

The Knights are now 6-2 on the season and are ranked second in the Skyland Conference Mountain Division.
