It is with deep sorrow that I write to share the news with you that one of our teachers, Marilyn Dori, passed away this afternoon. Marilyn was one of Gill St. Bernard’s best, having taught and served as a dean for almost 20 years at the school. During this time, she touched the lives of countless students, alumni, parents and teachers.
The funeral will take place in Marilyn’s native Puerto Rico. However, a service of celebration will be held at a later date on the campus. Once the date and time for this have been set, we will post it on the school’s Facebook page as well as the website. Donations in honor of Marilyn’s life may be made to the Marilyn Dori Unit Scholarship Fund, and sent to the school.
Once again, I am reminded of the importance of our school community. Gill St. Bernard’s has always been and will always be a place where you are cared for when in need, missed when away and loved always. We will forever miss Marilyn’s presence both inside and outside of the classroom here, and love her always. Her laughter was infectious and zest for life unmatched. Please keep her family in your prayers at this difficult time.
