Needless to say, the repaving of Old Chester Road and St. Bernard’s Road caused lengthy delays this morning and a great deal of frustration for our school community.
While some of the challenges were unavoidable, others were not. On two different occasions, school representatives shared our concerns with township personnel in an effort to mitigate the impact of the project. While there are always “three sides” to every story, suggestions included a start time of 8:30 AM and working on two Saturdays (10/6, 10/15). It is most unfortunate that our recommendations were not incorporated into the plans. By any standard, traffic was a mess.
That said, I do hope that all of our families will be patient with the workmen and understand that there is little we can do at this point. All student lateness due to the repaving work will be excused. Soon enough, the project will be completed.
It is one more reminder of the need for our families to represent the school’s interests to local political officials and vote in every election!
