Book Buddies Make Connections Sharing Stories
GSB Lower and Middle School Librarian Lia Carruthers knows the profound benefits of young learners being read to by older students, which is why she joyfully coordinates the GSB Book Buddies program. On Wednesday morning, seventh and eighth graders visited the Lower School to read out loud to preschool and prekindergarten students. As positive role models, the older students provide active participation in literacy, demonstrate fluency, and help to develop vocabulary skills in their younger Book Buddies.
