The golf team continued to make noise at the championship level as the Knights placed second at the Prep Championships yesterday at the Peddie School.
It was a close finish for the title as Gill and Pennington finished over ten strokes ahead of the rest of the field. Ultimately, Pennington won the event with a team score of 321 while the Knights had a score of 324.
Having the lowest score on the day was Moritz Weigold ’19, continuing his magnificent senior campaign with a 77. Also having strong scores for GSB was Graeme Hollingshead ’21 (80), Drew Kramer ’20 (81), Nick Policano ’20 (86), and Abhay Puri ’19 (92).
“It was a roller coaster week for us with the sectional tournament on Tuesday and then Preps yesterday,” said head coach Mike Cascini. “It was nice to see us have a strong performance after falling a bit short at sectionals. I give a lot of credit to the players for being able to stay focused during a time when we had a week filled with AP exams and finals coupled with the two most important tournaments of the season. As a coach and teacher, I am proud of them for the way they handled the workload.”
