GSB Athletic Director Selected for NJSCA Hall of Fame
Gill St. Bernard’s Director of Athletics and Head Baseball Coach David Pasquale has been selected for induction into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association (NJSCA) Hall of Fame this year.
The NJSCA Hall of Fame committee, coordinated by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), selects coaches each year who have demonstrated a high level of ethics and integrity, possess an outstanding array of coaching skills, and have contributed to a wide range of team successes. Recipients must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a head varsity coach in New Jersey. “This is a special honor for David and our school,” said Headmaster Sid Rowell. “GSB’s athletics program has grown significantly under David’s leadership over the past nine years and we are very pleased with his most recent accolade.”
Pasquale has amassed over 400 varsity wins as a head basketball and baseball coach at GSB and Newark Academy, where he taught and coached from 1993 to 2005. His teams have earned numerous conference, prep and sectional championships in both sports and he has received multiple Coach-of-the-Year accolades from various media outlets and coaches’ associations.
In 2012, the Gill St. Bernard’s athletics program was awarded the ShopRite Cup in the Non-Public B division for overall performance and outstanding sportsmanship on and off the playing field.
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey.
