Michaels ’20 Competes at Meet of Champions
For the third-straight season, senior swimmer Rebecca Michaels represented GSB at the prestigious NJSIAA Meet of Champions this past weekend at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology.
Michaels was one of only a handful of swimmers throughout the entire state to qualify for this meet. She earned the qualifying time in the 50 freestyle when she won that event at the Somerset County Championships in January.
Michaels finished 42nd overall at the state meet, capping an incredible four-year career at Gill.
“To qualify for the Meet of Champions is a very tough accomplishment, and for her to be here three-straight years is a phenomenal achievement,” said head coach Nolan Silbernagel. “It was bittersweet to have it be her last race for Gill, as she has meant so much to this program, but it has been a real privilege to coach her over all of these years!”
