Indoor Track and Field Teams Compete at Counties

The boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams stayed busy over the winter break as the Knights competed at the Somerset County Championships at Lehigh University on Thursday, December 27.
 
Leading the way for the girls’ team was sophomore Lucie Antonius who had a pair of top-three finishes. She went 5:53.45 in the 1600 meters to place third and grabbed second in the 400 meters in a time of 1:06.72. Also having a top finish for Gill was junior Anna Mikula as she took 15th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:12.13.
 
The boys’ squad was led by shot put throwers Mark Giordano ’19 and Joe Licata ’22. Giordano took ninth overall with a throw of 38 feet, 6 inches while Licata grabbed 16th place with a throw of 35 feet, 4 inches. All the boys’ relays also improved on their season times as well.
 
The Knights will be back in action on January 4 when they compete at the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
