Taylor Rooks ’14 Shatters Career Points Record

Senior Taylor Rooks eclipsed 2,488 career points (including 521 scored as a freshman at the Nichols School in Buffalo, N.Y.) on a foul shot in the third quarter at Bridgewater-Raritan High School yesterday evening to score more career points than any GSB basketball player in school history. In all, Rooks led the varsity basketball team with 19 points throughout the 52-46 victory over Bridgewater, also giving the girls a share of the 2014 Skyland Conference Delaware Division Championship. “Taylor has been fantastic throughout her career as a student-athlete, as a leader and as a teammate,” said Director of Athletics David Pasquale. “She’s been a special part of our program and I have no doubt that she will continue to shine in the years ahead.”

This latest milestone follows other impressive achievements by Rooks this season, including reaching the 1,000-rebound mark, earning nomination for the McDonald’s All American® Game, and receiving High School All-America honorable mention from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
