The boys’ basketball team has reached the North Jersey, Non-Public B Finals for the second-straight season after defeating Hudson Catholic, 47-34, this past Saturday, March 7.
It was an impressive defensive effort for the Knights, as they allowed their second-fewest points all season in the victory.
Denver Anglin ’22 led the scoring effort for GSB, scoring 14 points while being the only player from Gill to reach double digits. Also having big performances were Zach Martini ’20 (seven points, 13 rebounds), Will Soucie ’20 (nine points, eight rebounds, two steals), and Mack Mgbako ’23 (nine points, five rebounds, two assists).
The sectional finals are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 11, with the start time still to be determined. The contest will be a rematch of last year’s championship game, as the Knights are once again battling rival Roselle Catholic. Gill is aiming for its first sectional title since 2012.
