Mulcahy ‘19 Named Courier News Player of the Year

Senior Paul Mulcahy had an incredible final season on the basketball court for Gill, as the do-it-all point guard averaged a triple-double on the year with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists per game.

His dominating play helped lead the Knights to their fifth-straight Somerset County championship and their ninth-straight Skyland Conference divisional title.

“It’s cool to win this award again and I was definitely excited when they told me I had won,” said Mulcahy. “A lot of people helped getting me here.”

Even though Mulcahy will be leaving the Gill campus to join the basketball roster at Rutgers University next year, he knows the program has a bright future.

“I think Gill is in the best spot it has been in a while, there are a lot of good kids coming up,” he said. “Gill basketball has meant everything to me, and Coach Sina and the whole community has helped me so much so I will definitely be coming back to some games next year and cheering on the guys.”
