NJ.com Names Boys’ Basketball Most Surprising Team of the Year

Earlier today, NJ.com posted its mid-season awards for varsity boys' basketball, with columnist Jeremy Schneider picking the Knights as the most surprising team of the year and naming Jake Betlow as this year's most talented freshman. Schneider writes, "We knew Gill. St Bernard’s would be good, we just didn’t know it would be this good."

Currently, the boys' squad ranks first in the Skyland conference with a 6-0 record, and overall, the team boasts a 12-2 record and is running eighth in NJ.com’s top 20 listing.

Schneider also names Jake Betlow as this year's most talented freshman, noting that Betlow averages 12.8 points per game and "has made big plays in major moments."

The NJ.com mid-season awards come on the heels of last night's decisive (60-32) win over Rutgers Prep. For coverage of that game and others from yesterday, see The View from the Knights Café.
