GSB Athletes Shine on "Championship Saturday"

Dana Klein '14 made history yesterday, becoming the first-ever GSB girl to win an event at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions. Klein earned the gold medal in the girls' 3200 meter run in a school-record time of 10:37. Patrik Andersen '15 earned a medal as well, taking seventh in the boys' 1600m (4:19). Alex Benoit '14 (5:25/1600m), Sahara Ensley '16 (5:39/1600m) and Armani Comick '15 (Shot Put/29'9.5") also shined for the Knights.

Julien Esposito '15 was fourth in the 500 yard freestyle (4:42) and tenth in the 200 yard freestyle (1:45) at the NJSIAA Swim Championships, which qualified him for the finals in both events.

The Gill St. Bernard's varsity girls' basketball team defeated Franklin 55-51 in overtime to claim the 2014 Somerset County Basketball Championship. Jasmine Sina '14 was named the tournament MVP as the girls captured their third straight county title.

Despite a valiant effort, the boys lost a 53-52 overtime heartbreaker to Hillsborough in the county final.
