Track and Field Has Strong Showing at Princeton Invitational

The boys’ and girls’ track teams kept up their busy, championship-filled season by competing at the Princeton invitational at Princeton University. GSB had nine athletes qualify for this prestigious event.
 
Out of the 12 events in which Gill competed, seven resulted in personal best performances. The highlight of the day belonged to Emily Raia ’20, as the senior sprinter shattered her own 55 meter hurdle record and placed second overall. Raia remained busy on the day, finishing fourth in the long jump, 13th in the 55 meters, and 16th in the 200 meters.
 
Joe Licata ’22 also had a magnificent day, placing first overall in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet, 4.5 inches.
 
Other strong results from the day included Hayley Armstrong ’21 placing second in the 800 meters, Alex Tulenko ’22 grabbing seventh in the long jump, Kellyn Bucceri ‘22 taking tenth in the 55 meter hurdles, Niels Rongen ’20 finishing tenth in the 800 meters, Will Strong ’22 grabbing 12th in the 800 meters, James Koether ’21 finishing 16th in the 800 meters, and Teddy Lazar ’20 breaking the minute barrier in the 400 meters to finish 17th
