Cross Country Finishes Season on High Note

The cross country team enjoyed a fantastic finish to its fall season, with the Knights finishing third out of 16 teams at the Non-Public B Group Championships on Saturday, November 16.

All the varsity runners had great performances in earning the high ranking. Niels Rongen ’20 led GSB with an impressive 15th-place finish in a time of 18 minutes and 24 seconds. Following Rongen were Will Strong ’22 (22nd), Teddy Lazar ’20 (28th), James Koether ’21 (35th), Lachlan Wood ’22 (37th), Andrew Young ’21 (40th), and Laksh Patel ’23 (64th).

“It was a pretty unbelievable day; the whole team had great performances,” said head coach Mike Parker. “We were able to defeat a few of our rival teams, which is always good, and while only the top-two teams get to advance to the Meet of Champions, I am still extremely proud of how the kids performed today.”
