Boys’ Soccer Advances in Both Tournaments

The boys’ soccer team had a great week on the pitch, as the Knights advanced to the semifinals of the Somerset County Tournament by defeating Ridge, 3-0, on Saturday, October 19, and followed up that performance by reaching the championship round of the Prep Tournament after defeating Morristown-Beard, 4-2, on Monday, October 21.
 
Leading the way for Gill on Saturday was Gavin Scavino ‘22, as he recorded two goals in the win. Also having a strong showing for GSB was Micaah Garnette ‘21, who scored a goal and recorded two assists.
 
Garnette was once again an offensive threat for Gill against Morristown-Beard, as the talented striker scored two goals. Adam Berrocal ‘21 added a goal and an assist, Finlay Turnbull ‘21 also scored for Gill, and goalie Alex Borto ‘22 had nine saves to secure the win.
 
The Knights return to action on Wednesday, October 23, to face Bernards in the semifinals of the county championship.
