Garnette ’21, Borto ’22, Early Selections for State Honors

After a disappointing 1-0 loss against North Hunterdon to open up the season, the boys’ soccer team has rebounded in impressive fashion by winning its next two contests while outscoring its opponents 14 goals to four.

Leading the offensive outburst for the Knights has been junior Micaah Garnette. The striker has five goals and two assists on the season, and he has been chosen by NJ.com as a “way-too-early” Player of the Year candidate.

Garnette is not the only GSB player earning statewide recognition. Sophomore goalie Alex Borto has also been chosen by NJ.com as a “way-too-early” Goalkeeper of the Year candidate. Borto has only allowed four goals in three games so far this year while recording 25 saves.

Congratulations, Knights!
