Stellar Start for Golf

Currently 8-0 for the season, the golf team claimed second place at the Somerset County tournament on Monday, solidifying what has been one of the team's best seasons in history. Three players at the tournament shot 77 for the day: junior Moritz Weigold, sophomore Nick Policano and freshman Graeme Hollingshead. Sophomore Drew Kramer shot 80. In addition, freshmen Sophie Chang and Sydney Lapper were the first female golfers in school history to compete in the tournament. The girls competed as individuals, with Chang shooting 85 and Lapper 99.

Head golf coach Mike Cascini said the team should qualify for the state sectional tournament and with luck move on to the tournament of champions. In the more immediate future, the golfers look forward to competing in the Skyland Conference championships next week.

Go Knights.
